There are days when I feel like a cottage in the constant process of renovation–like God is continually tearing down walls, replacing beams and reframing, shattering windows and piecing together His work of art. He keeps renovating with the goal of changing the whole structure into something new, something better, something worthy of Him. The rebuilding process is painful, but oh so worth it, even when it seems like the construction will never end. Fortunately, I can continue to imagine the finished mansion and know that only God is able to see the completed masterpiece that He’s in the process of creating. Even when I can’t feel Him, He is there, patching up blemishes in the wood and smoothing the rough patches, reinforcing the foundation, slowly making me into a dwelling that He can one day reside in and not just visit from time to time.
